Meet the Staff

Dr. Pamela Sanders, D.V.M.

Hi, I am Pamela Sanders, D.V.M. I have been the owner of Princeton Veterinary Clinic since 1987. I grew up in a suburb of Philadelphia, PA, and then moved west to go to college in Colorado. I graduated from Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine in January 1980. I moved to the South Bay after graduation and worked in practices in Los Gatos and San Jose. In 1985, I was President of the Santa Clara County Veterinary Medical Association. I bought Princeton Veterinary Clinic in July 1987. After over 30 years, I still love being a veterinarian. I enjoy sharing my love and respect of animals with their owners. I am especially interested in internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and trying to solve behavioral problems. I also like working with service dogs (Canine Companions for Independence, Guide Dogs, Police Dogs) to try to enhance the special bond these dogs have with their owners. Currently, I have a hospital cat, Dini, and my at-home dogs - Pippi, Maxi, and cats, Dexter and Eli.

Sadly, on December 31, 2014, I had to put my beloved German Shepherd, Maxi, to sleep. It was a very painful decision but he had several neurological problems and it had gotten to the point where he could not out walk and he was having seizures that could not be controlled with medication. I will always love and miss him.

I decided to get to get another German Shepherd thru German Shepherd Rescue. I was looking for a young adult male...but ended up with a female puppy, who I named Cully. She is very sweet & cute - good thing, since she is a very active puppy & has done her share of destruction. Her speciality is chewing on things - like rugs, dog beds, door frames, & stucco. We have been thru 2 training classes already & will probably have to continue for a long time. My cats, Eli & Dexter, are not amused, but my other dog Pippi loves to play with her, but even she has to climb on the sofa or bed to escape her sometimes. My house feels like a puppy playpen!

Dr. Vivian Ku, D.V.M.

I received my degree in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004. Immediately upon graduation, I joined the staff at Walnut Creek's Encina Veterinary Hospital for a 1-year internship. At Encina, I was able to work hand-in hand with various specialists, including internists, dermatologists, oncologists, and surgeons, gaining valuable experience I critical and urgent care.

After Encia, I began work at Princeton in October 2005, and have thoroughly enjoyed the family- like staff and client relationships. As a local resident in San Jose, I am honored to treat and care for the loved critters in our community.

I have a spunky Spaniel-cross whom we call Beans, named by my husband when he was going through a soy bean phase back in 2008. The other member of the family is our black-and-white purr monster, Poppy. Whoever said dogs and cats don't get along sure hasn't seen our household! =)

Most recently, we fostered a little Chihuahua cross we named "Spark". She came to us with both her front legs broken. She got along with our family so well during her recovery that we adopted her into our family as well.

I look forward to meeting you at Princeton, and always trying my best to provide the most compassionate and thorough care for your 4-legged family members.

Big News - on December 30, 2014, Dr. Ku and her husband had a baby boy! His name is Finley Preston Huang & he is adorable! Dr. Ku came back to work at the beginning of March 2015 & his working 3 days a week.

Dr. Carol Lah, D.V.M.

Hi, my name is Carol Lah and I am excited to be a part of Princeton Veterinary Clinic as an associate veterinarian. I graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2014 and I worked in a busy practice in Morgan Hill for a couple years before joining Princeton. Prior to becoming a veterinarian, I graduated from Pomona College in Claremont, CA with a bachelor's degree in chemistry in 2003. Immediately after, I entered graduate school for biomedical sciences at UT Southwestern where I received my Master's degree (M.S. biology) in 2005. Following graduate school, I decided to pursue veterinary medicine because it combined my passion for animals and medicine. I entered the field of veterinary medicine by working as a full-time veterinary technician from 2006 to 2010 prior to matriculation at UC Davis veterinary school in 2010 where I obtained my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2014.

I have been a resident of San Jose since 2008. I grew up in Southern California but I also lived in Dallas, TX and St. Louis, MO prior to moving here. I live with my husband of 8 years, Chris, and our five beloved four-legged family members. Bella, our rescued 5 year old American Staffordshire terrier, is the sweet one who loves cuddles and kisses. Niko, our rescued 14 year old Pomeranian, is the independent thinker with an addiction to Greenies. Angel, our 11 year old Pomeranian, is the alpha of the group who likes to carry a stuffed animal wherever she goes. We also adopted two kittens last year named Boy Kat and Girl Kat, who provide us with non-stop laughs with their crazy antics.

I'm excited to be joining the Princeton Veterinary Clinic family and I look forward to meeting everyone and their feline/canine family members!

Madeline Becker, Veterinarian Assistant/Office Manager

I was born and raised in San Jose, where I currently work and live. I graduated from San Jose State University with a BA in Biology. Animals have been a passion in my life since childhood.

Married and mother of three, I value family which includes all of my animal members too. Posie, my English Labrador-walking partner, and my four felines; Lex, Greggie, Billie and Tigger.

I have worked at Princeton Veterinary Clinic for over 20 years. My special interests include dog training, gardening, hiking, walking and attending dog and cat shows. Walking our dogs during our lunch hour is a special treat.y

Stefanie Taylor, Registered Veterinary Technician

I am a South Bay Native. I have been at Princeton for over 20 years. I graduated from Foothill College in 1994 with a degree in Veterinary Technology. I received my license in 1995. I am interested in puppy care, education, and emergency medicine.

When I am not helping at the Princeton I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children. We have a Corgi named Mater who enjoys playing soccer with the family. I also enjoy spending time with friends and wine tasting.

Tanya Tott, Veterinarian Assistant

I am a veterinarian assistant with over 20 year's experience at Princeton Veterinary Clinic. I have 2 dogs Ginger and Chubs and 1 cat, Tater. I spend most of my time with my animals and two children. I love spending time at the beach and watching my favorite shows.

Carlie

I have been working at Princeton Veterinary Clinic for six years as an assistant and receptionist. I am currently attending Foothill College and working towards becoming a registered technician.

I love working with animals, they always make me smile! I have a few of my own animals as well; Stella is my dog, a two year old Maltese cross. I also have five cats that I have adopted through fostering different litters of kittens that have come to the clinic throughout the years. When I am not taking care of animals I enjoy traveling, the outdoors and wine tasting!

Monica Balistreri - Receptionist

Please welcome back Monica. She worked here from the late 1980s until she graduated from college in 1992. She worked at the San Jose Mercury News in the advertising/marketing department for 20 years. She & her husband Tim have 3 sons. Working with animals in a veterinary hospital remained her true love, so when I needed a new receptionist, I called her. She is excited to,be back & we are delighted to be working with her again.

Dini

My name is Dini and I am a three year old Siamese cross. I came to Princeton after I was abandoned in a cardboard box at their front door. The staff took me in and made me their house kitty! I am a very curious boy, sometimes even too curious! I love to say "hi" to the pets that come into the clinic, and I especially love saying "hi" and getting love from the people that come in! I love being a member of the Princeton Family!
